by Cicely Mary Barker

Rare find!
Provides readers with a celebrated collection of poetry, complete with a flower fairy time line, sketches, botanical notes, rich illustrations, and more.
One of the most popular collections of Cicely Mary Barker's work is now available in a handsome new edition featuring improved reproductions of the artist's work. The collection showcases Barker's detailed, lush illustrations, includes her sketches and botanical notes about each flower, and has an introduction with facts about the artist's life.
Winter is not generally considered a time for the study of nature, but many beautiful plants and flowers flourish in the colder months. Cicely Mark Barker's exquisite Flower Fairy watercolours celebrate the wonderful variety of flora that can be seen in winter. The Flower Fairy illustrations, originally painted between 1920 and 1950, are renowned for their unique combination of naturalism and fantasy; the plants are observed with complete botanical accuracy and the fairies perfectly capture the unselfconscious grace of young children.
